Sumi-e workshop for spring at Le Saint Opera

春の水墨画ワークショップを開催しました。

いつも開催している新宿三丁目のルサントオペラ、お座敷とバーカウンターのあるシャンソン歌手の聖児さんのお店です。

このお店には床の間らしきスペースがお座敷にあるので、全体的な洋風の雰囲気でありながら、掛け軸を眺められるという、とても不思議な空間です。

This place has a tatami room with Europian wall paper, so it’s a special place you can enjoy Sumi-e scroll in extraordinary atmosphere.

今回のお題は菊か鯉を選択して、描いてもらいました。

The motifs were  chrysanthemum or carp for this time.

菊には様々な技法が含まれているので、難しいのですが、勉強になります。

How to draw chrysanthemum inculuding many technics which is difficult but very good study.

鯉は勢いが大切なモチーフなので、前のめりな気持ちで♪

The carp needs an positive motivation with strong mind.

半分の生徒さんは初挑戦、そのうちのお一人はフランスから旅行で東京にいらした、ドミニークさんです。

The half of students were first time to sumi-e and one of them came from France for sight-seeing.

初めて墨を磨る作業や、筆で絵を描くことに戸惑いを感じつつも、日本の文化に触れる体験を楽しんでいただけたようです。

The first work for making Sumi ink and drawing made her nervous, but she enjoyed Japanese culture touching an experience.

水墨画レッスンのあとは、お茶会をしながら、生徒さんの作品を鑑賞します。

それぞれの感想、作品への思いなどを発表してもらいます。

After workshop, students shows all the works we made while we have a tea party.

They explained what they thought about their work after all.

また、暖かい始まりの季節が巡ってまいりました。
冬眠から覚めるように、筆をとり、水墨画の世界で、春の空気を心で感じ取りましょう。

どなた様もお気軽にご参加下さい。

今まで体験した方も、初めての方も、それぞれのレベルに合わせて指導いたします。
墨で絵を描く楽しさを知れば、日々の季節の移ろいを感じることができますよ！

そして、4/20からのワークショップに合わせて、二週間に渡り、掛け軸展示も行います。今回は風神雷神です。お時間ある方は、ぜひ足をお運び下さいませ♪

春の週末の昼下がりに、非日常を纏ったお店、ルサントオペラで、お待ちしております。

レッスンの後には、お茶会をしますので、お好きなお飲みものを飲みながら、みんなでお話しましょう。
お菓子の持ち込みも大歓迎です。

Again the spring has come to be the starting of warm season.

Let’s feel the spring air from the bottom of your heart by taking a brush in Sumi-e world like to be awake from the long sleep in winter.

Please come and visit workshop with freedom mind.

I will teach you any levels of skill, even if you are beginner or experienced.

You can see the differences of four seasons if you know the way to draw by enjoying Sumi-e art.

Also I will have exhibition of  scroll of Wind-God and Lighting-God for 2 weeks in Le saint Opera, shinjuku 3 chome.

After the lesson, we are going to have tea party, so please stay and talk with all the students to see their art works and have relaxing time with your favorate drinks.

We are very welcome to bring some sweets and snacks for the party:)

New year`s postcards’ workshop at le saint opera finished.

新宿ルサントオペラでの水墨画ワークショップが終了しました。

今回は来年の干支、馬を描きました。

初めて水墨画に挑戦する生徒さんも多かったので、不安そうな方もいらしたのですが、始めてみると集中力でさくさく筆が進んでいました。

In this workshop, we draw horses. There are many people who tried first time, so they felt uneasy about Sumi-e, but they worked well with good concentration when it’s start.

まずは手本を描きます。

I set good example how to Sumi-e first.

誰に送るのかな？

Who is going to get  this card?

面で描いていく練習をします。形を作るのは後ほど。

Practicing draw by side of brash, then taking a line later.

だいたいの形がつかめてくると、動きが出てきます。

When you get the figure of horse, you can make movement.

素晴らしい馬が書かれた年賀状がたくさんできました。

大切な人に贈るにふさわしい新年のご挨拶となるといいですね！

There are wonderful horses on new year postcards. I hope you can send new year’s greeting for your loved one in your life!

水墨画を描いたあとは、みんなで作品を見ながらのお茶会です。

We had tea party after Sumi-e for talking about each works.

後半では、参加者のふうさんが琵琶を演奏してくれました。

祇園精舎の鐘の声、諸行無常の響あり・・・大変風流な時間をありがとうございました。

In second class, Fu-san played Biwa(four stringed japanese lute) for us.

It was very precious time, thank you for Fu-san.

今回も個性的な力作揃いでしたね。
